Award-Winning FTC Team from Oak Grove
We are a FIRST Tech Challenge robotics team from Oak Grove Lutheran School in Fargo, ND. We have won many awards and have competed in the World Championship. Our goal is to make the best robot, reach out into the community, and prepare the next generation of innovators.
The Inspire Award is the highest award a team can receive. It recognizes the team that best embodies the mission of FIRST across robot, documentation, outreach, and team aspects.
Placed first in the State Championship, qualifying for the FIRST World Championship. This is where the best teams from all over the world compete to be number one.
Selected to compete in the New England Premier Event, a competition similar to the World Championship, just a step down.
Every year we make a new robot from the ground up. CAD, prototyping, improving, and tuning are what power the engineering design process. Our robot also runs autonomous routines powered by PedroPathing and assisted by Limelight cameras. Our robot is mainly controlled by a driver and an operator may be needed for further controls.
The FTC season game is revealed. Time is spent to read the rules, brainstorm mechanisms, and start sketching designs.
CAD, 3D printing, testing, programming, and driving all take place. Designs are finalized and the robot is built. Autonomous routines are written and refined.
Practice matches are ran to get a feel for gameplay. These matches are unofficial but provide crucial insight on what to expect during championships.
Regional qualifier events are held to determine who moves on to the next level. Strong performance on and off the field will earn your team an invitation to the State Championship.
This is the state/regional championship for North Dakota. The top two teams advance on to the World Championship.
The FIRST World Championship is held in Houston. This is where some of the best teams compete. OGR earned our spot and competed here in 2022.
